Una Paris

MEDIUM: Large-scale abstract oil and mixed media paintings

A native of County Mayo, Ireland and a longtime resident of Central Florida and Indiana, Una has been painting for 35 years in the West of Ireland, France and the United States. She is a graduate of Limerick School of Art and Design and attended NCAD in Dublin. Una’s art represents the free spiritedness of her Irish heritage.

She creates large-scale abstract oil and mixed media paintings. Her subject matter is drawn from the landscape, the human form and the abstract imagination. In her work she uses vibrant color, texture and movement to tell a story.  Her work is continually moving and changing through layers of colors, always exploring the abstraction, and the activation of shapes and lines.

“My paintings represent my love of the West of Ireland’s beautiful landscapes as well as my desire to express movement and emotion through free-flowing abstract expressionism “

“Art allows us to see the beautiful in our world and in each other.”

“Inspired heavily by nature my paintings reflect an ever-changing landscape. I have always been fascinated by the intersection between the man-made walls that define the Irish landscape and the continual colorful change of Irelands beautiful mountains.  These walls represent both human’s attempt to control nature and a need to survive. These reflections of my art express both the historical and continual changes seen in our life experiences.”

Her work is internationally recognized and can be found in private collections in Australia, Belgium, China, Great Britain, Ireland, and United States. In the U.S. she has exhibited in Arizona, Florida, Indiana and North Carolina.

Currently Una’s work is displayed in the lobby of the Orlando Waldorf Astoria Resort all year round and in Bloomingdales at the Mall at Millenia Orlando, August to October 2018, Art on Main, Carmel, Indiana, Nov-Dec 2018
